Having the beautiful and confident smile you always wanted without the inconvenience of metal braces is now possible with Invisalign®. Specially trained and certified as an Invisalign® dentist in Charlotte, Dr. Richard Van Gurp provides this treatment option for patients with teeth that are misaligned, crowded or widely spaced.
Virtually invisible, Invisalign® works through a series of clear, comfortable and removable aligners that gradually move your teeth into their proper position. Using innovative technology, Dr. Van Gurp will be able to show you what your future smile will look like before Invisalign® treatment even begins.
Benefits of Invisalign®
Like brackets and arch wires are to braces, Invisalign® aligners move teeth through the appropriate placement of controlled force on your teeth. The main difference is that Invisalign® not only controls forces, but also the timing of the force application. During each stage, only certain teeth are allowed to move.
Why Choose Invisalign®?
- Invisalign® aligners are so clear that most people won't notice you’re wearing them.
- Removable aligners give you flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment. In addition, you can maintain fresh breath and good oral hygiene throughout your treatment by removing your aligners to brush and floss normally.
- Unlike braces, there are no metal brackets or wires with the Invisalign® system that could cause irritation to your mouth. Plus since your office visits during treatment don’t involve metal or wire adjustments, you’ll likely spend less time in the doctor's chair.
About Invisalign® Treatment
The Invisalign® system is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the dazzling smile you've always dreamed of. Using advanced 3-D computer-imaging technology, Dr. Van Gurp will depict your complete treatment plan, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position.
A series of clear aligners will be custom-made to gradually reposition your teeth. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, until the final position of your teeth is achieved.
Your Invisalign treatment time will be determined by Dr. Van Gurp based on your specific needs. Most patients complete Invisalign® treatment in 6 to 12 months.
