What To Expect
Before any cosmetic dental procedure, we recommend that our patients visit our dental office for a one on one consultation and comprehensive exam. During your comprehensive exam, your dentist will assess any damage to the teeth, check the condition of the teeth, and determine if porcelain veneers are right for you. If you are not an ideal candidate for porcelain veneers, we offer a full range of cosmetic services to address any of your dental and cosmetic needs. Once you comprehensive exam is completed, your dentist will create your personalized treatment plan.
In most cases, Dr. Van Gurp will need to remove a minimal amount of surface structure from the teeth to prepare them for bonding. Impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to a dental laboratory. In some cases, Dr. Van Gurp can create custom designed porcelain veneers in our Charlotte dentist office using CEREC technology.
On average, the porcelain veneers process may take anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks; during this time your dentist may place temporary veneers to protect the teeth. Once the porcelain veneers are fabricated, your dentist will carefully bond them to the teeth. Your dentist can make any final adjustments once the veneers are placed.
Patients can enjoy the benefits of a natural looking, long-lasting solution. Porcelain veneers are satin and decay resistant. However, patients should still practice their normal oral hygiene outline to maintain them.
